HELP! I have a 10 year-old red "jungle cactus" that's just gorgeous when it blooms, but its become drastically overgrown in the container that holds it, needs dividing AND repotting BAD! It usually blooms in May and early June..I need advice on when the best time to divide/repot is and any other helpful hints anyone can give me so I don't kill the plant! Hey! Thanks, everyone!!

from what i know such plants don't really multiply directly from the root. so i'd guess you only have ONE PLANT with one stem emerging from the roots.
    BUT I COULD BE WRONG.
if i am right, it may be impossible to divide it. you can trim it though, and root the cuttings. not sure it will look better trimmed though!
if space is not a problem, i'd just repot it in a bigger one.
