Evidently not. I cleaned up the Canna bed yesterday, cutting down the dead leaves after the freezes we had last week and found all of these babies in various stages of growth. It's winter and not in the tropics, they should be sleeping. But this will give you some idea of what our temperatures have been like for the last 3 months.

Perhaps winter is cancelled. :) What else shows up in early springtime around the Dallas area? Maybe as the globe warms occasionally some areas will experience 3 seasons.

Hopefully they can survive that upcoming blast of winter... wait... it's a Canna! I'm sure they'll be just fine. :-D

Jerry we already have three seasons...Almost Summer, Hotter than H**l, and not quite as hot as summer. ;)

Cheryl, yep they can survive just about anything. A few years ago I was dividing and moving some, about 4 got left laying out all winter. Next Spring they started putting out new leaves and roots, I stuck them in the ground and they soon multiplied to about a dozen.

Yes,Jerry, there is some truth in what you said.We are definitely having winter as of yesterday. There was talk of crocus appearing on south sides of buildings last week.
Lots of robins out there wishing they had gone south.

After seeing Toni's picture I took a toddle around my garden to see what there was. The daffs are already around and inch out of the ground!!
Roll on an early spring as I'm more than ready for it.
