I am here because I love gardening. I used to vegetable garden but I got hooked more on flowers so I usually now just have a tomato plant or two. I am planning where to plant new plants that I have seen and I figure I always have room for one or two new lilys. Are you planning your flower beds yet?

These are my flower beds. The first one is right by the front door.

We planted clemantis to try and cover up the dog kennel , so it would look better...

Then on the left side of our yard I have room for my 2 tomato plants and some lilys....

I have taken you all around my house now...I have things I want to switch around and some plants that haven't done very good so I will trade or throw them out....

What plans or changes do you have in mind for your beds?

Your gardens look lovely Sherry! I love the hot pink in the back...it really catches the eye.
I'm constantly moving things around in my gardens. I think next year my existing gardens will stay pretty much the same with the exception of the annuals. I plan to concentrate more on the 2 gardens I started to build this fall and the addition of more trees around the yard.

Get real about preventative-maintenance, I'm SO tired of things looking hopeful in April and shrivelling in June!

Oh, droool! Can't imagine what you want changed, Sherry8, it looks perfect.

I'm constantly moving plants about. Sometimes I wish for them to have wheels, it would make my work so much easier.

I always plan my borders with great care. Then I plant, and after a year or two realize that the plants are not growing according to description, and the colours are not what they were presented as. In the meantime I've also managed to buy things that I just couldn't leave, and have put them in between due to lack of space, and my well-planned border is looking like somebody's effort to make something creative.

I might be able to correct some of my mistakes next season, and I might not, depending on the weather.

You have such a pretty yard. All your flowers are gorgeous looking. I have so many things I can change and empty places to still fill in with flowers. We're still working on getting our yard to fill in with grass, so more grass seed to plant again this year. I suppose if I had to really stop and think I could go on and on and on.

What a neat and tidy yard and beds you have. First rate. The planning and care is apparant.

I shall be planning some changes for the coming season in one section of the flower gardenm. I shall renove a whole bed and thin out drastically other plants along part of the front. A row of lavender will be nearest the main path. I have a few ideas about the fillers but I will have to see how it turns out after the spring cleaning...and what's available seed and plant wise.

Anyway Sherry8, thank you very much for showing your garden, it's lovely.

Thank you for all your replies...Just like some I have problems with plants not staying in the size range that were stated or just dying off. Some things for zone 4 just do not make it here...I can't figure it out so I just plant something else.

I think the insects make a difference too. I have found things that they just love to eat and won't leave them alone so out they go.. I did thin out my iris this fall so I am waiting to see what the beds will look like in the spring..
