I bought some seeds off of E-bay and they sent me free Red-crimson clover. I'v look on here and can't find a pic or info to tell me size so I can plant them.
Does the package call it an annual? There are two kinds, one is a perennial wild prairie flower that tends to take over, the other is an annual that gets to be about a foot tall but it can come back the next year if the seeds fall on bare ground. The latin name of the annual is Trifolium incarnatum
We have one kind that grows all over the Texas roads around here>It is fairly short with Crimson flowers pretty but spreads like wild fires.
It's used as a winter 'cover crop' in Delaware. Its very pretty. The flowers are a vibrant color. I can see where it could be quite aggressive in milder areas, as it reseeds...lets say... generously.
The crimson clover used as a winter cover crop is not the same as the annual crimson clover, the annual dies with the first frost. What you have is probably the annual Trifolium incarnatum.
