Does copper tape keep slugs away? If so where do you buy it? I am looking for anything to get rid of slugs and keep them away.

I've read that it should help, but that you need a certain width (was it about an inch, I don't remember?). Simple copper wire will not help then.
I'm not sure on copper, either, but wanted to share a couple of things that work for me. First, and this is contrary to all other advice, I eliminate mulch around slug prone areas. The mulch provides a very hospitable environment for the slimy little plant eaters. I have to weed a bit more, but it sure beats slug damage. I also use finely ground egg shells around the plants - chopped up in a food processor. Both have helped me control the problem. If you do use the copper, keep us posted on how it works.
Copper tape is actually quite effective because if a slug or snail comes in contact with it, it'll give said slug or snail a small electrical shock which will discourage further travel. So, that being said. Go for it!
I haven't tried the copper tape yet but I do know wood ashes spread on gardens keeps slugs and snails away. Those slimy creatures used to ruin all my hostas but when I used wood ashes one spring, no more slugs or snails. Now I use wood ashes on all my gardens. It works!
I use copper tape on my outdoor orchids and it works for me so far, and my Mum uses it to surround her raised vegetable bed and so far her cabbage and other veg are slug free, this is the first year of use but from our experience so far, I would reccomend it, my Mum bought hers from Kleeneze and I got mine off EBay as it was the cheapest place I could find for it.
