Here is a great saying I saw once somewhere but I can't remember where; I have worked for so long, with so little. I can now create anything, out of nothing. Yup, some days are like that.
Perhaps is a quote from Mother Teresa of Calcutta: "We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing." Jerry
Cheryl should definitely have that as her signature don't you think? She an expert at making beautiful objects out of next to nothing.
I love that saying. But, Eileen, I do not feel worthy for even the suggestion that I should use it as a signature. I've grown up "just making do" as my elders called it. No need to drive into town to buy something when you can "make do" with what's laying around the house. Sometimes it's out of necessity... other times just for fun! And then there's those times you're just bored and need something to do "without leaving the farm". :-D
I learned how to do stuff with almost nothing from my Mother. We HAD to make do to survive. That is just how it was. Kids nowadays think they need a trip to the store for everything and toss stuff that could be recycled and repurposed for free. Sometimes I think my nickname is Hand-me-down Rose... Maybe that is why I enjoy things like flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales so much ?
AAnightowl: I agree. I love going to those places to. It is so true that some else's trash is some one else's treasure.
