I was reading about Eileen's new boy Merlin and the initial confusion about his breed and was browsing the net(as you do ;) ) goodness knows what I searched on but I came across this:

    http://www.blackdogdna.com

Apart from the cost perhaps the rescue centre could have done with a kit :p

I think it's a great idea and wish such a thing had existed for our first girl,Claude, whose exact parentage we couldn't begin to guess...

That's very interesting, though not knowing the exact parentage is part of the fun of a mixed breed dog haha

But I can see where it would come in handy figuring out why your dog acts a certain way or catering more to the dog's needs.

Thanks for the link. I found it very interesting.
After the confusion with Merlin I had another look at the Dog's Trust website and came across quite a few mistakes they've made with breeds.

    Here's one glaringly obvious one:

This is Jess who they say is a Bloodhound.

    THIS is a Bloodhound.

    I don't think it's a DNA test they need it's an eye test!! :D

Well, at least they didn't identify Jess as a Chihuahua! :)

Well it's not surprising that they got Merlin's breed wrong is it
