I planted a couple of dogwoods about 3 weeks ago, and both have wilting leaves and one in particular has leaves that a shriveling up and turning dark green. Is this from the shock of transplant or is something wrong. I live in Austin, TX and my soil has a lot of clay and limestone. I have been watering twice a week. When I planted them, I added the recommended amount of root stimulator, and that's it...

    Thanks for any advice,
    Gus

It sounds like your soil is the problem . . . :( follow the link below, and check the information.

The dogwood is the state tree in North Carolina, and we have clay soil where I am . . . The native dogwoods grow along the edge of the woods where organic materials break down the soil some. You may want to call your agricultural extension agent to get advice on what to do next. (After all . . . they have been in the ground for three weeks. . .that may be to your advantage . . . I dunno.) We also have several Texan gardners as members on this site. Maybe they could make suggestions to save your trees. Blessings.
