As a fellow "mother hen" I can say those are fine looking chicks, and you and your sister and the broody did awfully well. They are adorable!

Thanks! they are sweet little chicks. I'll have to go get pictures of the last two that hatched... I can't believe how big they are already. and I am sure these will look just like the last two. :)

Sorry, Cheryl, I have too many to remember their names.I do remember what each one looks like and am able to tell if someone is missing. and if i have to get rid of a roo or two I don't have such an attachment to them.

Here are the first two chicks hatched from before. The newest batch will most likely look like these. although I will keep you up to date with pictures as they grow.

Just seeing the word "Pullet" brought back an old childhood memory. It was a "joke" my dad and uncles played on us kids.
First they'd tap on the top of your head and say "rooster". Then tap on your chin and say "hen". Then gently (most times) grab your nose between the thumb and forefinger, give it a tug and exclaim "Pullet"!
    :D
Memories are such a strange thing!

Chicks are interesting to follow especially as I do not have to clean out the henhouse. :)
