Thanks for the good wishes! We had a good day. We went to breakfast and lunch and might have went to supper but decided eating out three times in one day was a bit too much. I got a new travel mug which I've been wanting and a Rand McNally road atlas. I'm already to go but Where? dooley

I highly recommend a day trip to Waco, take a tour of the Dr. Pepper Museum, a Dr.Pepper float with Blue Bell Vanilla Ice cream is delicious on a hot day. Also tour the Texas Rangers Museum, the law enforcement agency NOT the baseball team and learn some of the lesser known Texas history.

Austin is roughly two hours away, a tour of our Capital building is wonderful and there is a barbeque place called Iron Works near downtown that is delicious. And of course the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a beautiful place in spring.

Or look thru http://www.texasescapes.com/default.htm and pick a place close enough to you.

I wish we had the time to take more one day trips, there really is a lot to see.
