In another post, someone mentioned a Double Grape Hyacinth (Droopy?) Could this be one of those? It is growing up in a regular clump and I don't remember it looking like that last year.
There are several of them, aren't there? Yours are fuller than mine but it looks like the double ones. Maybe you could manage to separate them from the rest if you want to keep them under control.
I just checked on mine and not a single one looks like yours Netty. They look very attractive when they're doubled up like that.
Yes, they are pretty. They don't seem to have the same scent as the others though. I guess I'll try to separate them after they bloom.
Does the stem itself look as if it is doubled too? If so then what you have is a thing called 'fasciation' This is when because of mechanical damage (insect, animal, whatever) two or more parts of a plant fuse together to produce some weird and wonderful growths. Sadly as it is not genetic then it is not lasting and next year the plant will revert to normal.
Whatever it is Netty it's kind of cool. They all look wonderful. I'm thinking of getting some for my garden. Thanks for sharing.
