I'm taking my mom to the hospital for double bypass heart surgery today and would appreciate any thoughts and prayers that can be directed this way. It has all come together rather quickly. It started with a routine doctor's appointment less than two weeks ago, but he was concerned enough to rush her into surgery as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for thinking about her. Her name is Inez.
Sending those positive thoughts her way. Wishing you strength also. I am sure that more of our community will join in with crossed fingers. Keep us posted. mate.
Keeping you and her in my thoughts and prayers... It is pretty stressful, but the technologies and advancements they have made are impressive. Stents can now be put in through the wrist or groin. Medicines have improved lives significantly, too. So, hopefully it will be less stressful than you are anticipating, but it is still your mom and you will be distressed until the procedure is over and the doc comes to give you the report. Peace and prayers! We are in the same boat with my BIL. He had a heart attack in Oct and was back in the ER yesterday and transported to a major hosp. last night. I seem to be the designated driver. I will say they are treating things more aggressively than not anymore, too.
As a recipient of a quadruple bypass in 2001, I wish her the best of luck. I know it's scary waiting for it to be done, and waiting to hear positive things, but the way that the procedures have improved over the years, it is almost routine anymore. Praying for you and her.
Many positive thoughts coming her way and yours. My Dad had quintuple bypass surgery in 1980 and aced it, so with the improvements in medical technology since then she should be up walking the halls by tomorrow. Just hope she doesn't pester the nurses like my Dad did. But maybe she should, that helped my Dad recover so quickly. If they tell her to NOT pick up anything heavy for a few weeks make sure she follows that rule. My dad was told that but not the reason so two weeks after he went home he carried the christmas tree from the car to the house. His chest whistled a bit every time he breathed after that because he pulled the breast bone apart before it could completely heal.
