I can't believe it. Tomorrow, our daughter, Jessica Louise, will turn 10. Double figures. She has had a turbulant start with her collection of allergies, the egg one nearly finishing her off when she was just a few monthes old. Then her terrible eczema - her skin wasn't fully developed when she was born, so she spent the first few years of her life in bandages and being bathed in oil and smothered in cream. But she is growing into a beautiful young lady. I can still remember holding her in my arms that first night, singing twinkle twinkle little star as I was the only one in the maternity suite in Maidstone hospital, walking her around, to frightened to put her down, and now, now she is 10.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESSICA EJ time really flies doesn't it? It won't be long now till she is a teenager! 8) You wish that you could put the brakes on and slow them down. :-| She did have a rough start, but the little lady has proved to be a real fighter. Wish her well. won't you.
Happy Tenth!!! I'll bet Jessica gets a lot of her strength from her loving mom! Happy tenth, Jessica! My "babies" are 17 and 22 and I still look back fondly at those first days. Each year holds a special joy, though and every birthday is a new milestone. -Rhonda...Wearer of Many Hats
Happy Birthday to her!...and congrats to you. It must have been hard, but it certainaly strengthens the bonds, doesn't it? Boy, time sure flies.
Many happy returns Jessica. That must have been so tough on a mother - though you two survived and ten years down the line you can look back on those testing times and 'appreciate' it. Well I hope you will have many more years to reflect on.
Aww, thanks everyone. She was spoilt rotten this weekend, went shopping, taken out for lunch, had the flower show where she won prizes, visited my mum, saw her nan and grandad, received lots of cards, gifts and money! It is amazing, she is now a young lady....although when she is snuggled up with her teddy and blanket, sucking her thumb, it is hard to imagine!
