    Okay... I couldn't resist! I'm so weak!
I was at Big Lots and they had small packs of bulbs. One was for Allium sphaerocephalon (Drumsticks). Naturally there wasn't much info on the bags (but at least I could see the bulbs).
So... I get back to the office and look it up online. I've seen conflicting planting times. Most say to plant them in the Fall. A couple other places say they can be planted in Spring.
So my question... do I go ahead and plant them now? Or refrigerate them until Fall?

We have just bought some similar Alliums and I put them in pots to go out when the ground is workable. I do not think they would last, even in the fridge until September/October.
Planting now would be better, in my opinion. They may just flower later than usual.

Thanks Eric. I was wondering whether or not they'd survive in the 'fridge. I'll go ahead and get them in the ground when I do the other planting.
I also noticed while reading up on it that it really looks good planted with another contrasting color and shape plants.
So, you know that what means... I need to pick out something to go with it.
Ohhhh the misery of having to buy/plant more flowers. :D

A terrible dilemma. One can only do one's best and hope.

    I got a pack of 10 bulbs for $5.00.
I'm still contemplated on where to plant them. It's going to have to be where I'll remember whats planted there in case they don't bloom this year.

Well the ones I potted up late, a couple of weeks ago, have roots coming from the bottom of the pots, so I guess they are growing. Since they are all in the polytunnel they have had no freezing temps.

I bought some drumstick Alliums last year from Telegraph newspapers, they never showed.

I had bought some allium bulbs last fall and planted them in containers in November. Did I plant it at the wrong time? :(
    Was it too early?

I had already bought and planted mine last year Annette.

Tina, sometimes they just don't show, any plant we plant can just disintergrate, get eaten, get bug damage.

    Mice love bulbs.
