We only had 1 inch of rain in July where we normally have 4 to 5 inches. And so far in Aug. we have only had 1/3rd of an inch. And my water barrels are almost empty!

Glenda you are getting Capt's rain and mine.
We ended up with 3/4 inch this week which is more than we have had since early May.

It's much the same here too. My willow tree looks dead, and I've started watering it in hopes of saving it. I've pretty much decided to call it a year in the back, and will only water in the front.

It's been a strange summer here too. Very high temps, and then a dive down to very low temps. Rain for weeks on end, and suddenly dry for weeks on end. Very unusual.

Capt, I am a neighbor in Michigan and ditto! Our ground is dry as an old bone. When we dig for anything the dust flys. Watering moistens the top layer and evaporates.

    Thank you, all veterans!
