Man do we ever need rain here! The trees are dropping their leaves nere already it's so dry. That's about 2 months too early. They aren't even turning there normal fall colors, just turning brown and dropping. Hopefully we may get some rain this evening. :(

We had three die from the drought, and our insurance will not cover removing them. One is in a place where it will have to be taken down from the top.

Hope y'all get that rain soon.

Why not make a request in the rain dance thread?

Even here CK we've hardly had any rain this summer. Nothing compared to what you are going through I know but it's strange not to have much rain here in Scotland.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you get a nice, steady downpour soon.

Trees are loosing leaves around here too, but then they do that every August anyway especially the Cottonwoods.

There are some large trees, and not particularly old ones either, falling over or splitting apart. There is no breeze to help keep the trees cool so when people water the yard under the tree, the water goes to the upper part of the tree to keep it cool. The stress of the extra weight is more than the already weather stressed tree can bear and it either comes completely down or the limbs split apart.

Maybe it is a good thing we have not been watering our yard since we have two pecan trees approx 50' tall on the north side of the house and a 60' Hackberry and 40' Chinaberry on the south side of the house.

Even with the rain that we have had, our trees are beginning to lose their leaves. We don't usually have frost until November so it's early here too. Dooley

we have the same thing here in NY. you can see walking around my neighborhood who waters their lawn and who doesnt. The leaves in front of some peoples houses are incredible. all brown and crunhy. Worse then fall.. Sime trees are totally bare already.. its sad.

We had a sprinkle yesterday. Barely enough to dampen the sidewalk. So will have to water everything today.

It's been terribly dry here as well, though the heat waves seem to have let up. I just keep moving my sprinkler around, trying to be sure each gets at least enough to keep them going. I was afraid my plum would be dropping its fruit too soon from the stress, so he's gotten more than most of the others.

    Rain, please.
