I love that Kansas song. But this was what north Texas looked like last Saturday when the 50 mph winds brought Lubbock to us.

Lubbock is a town about a 7 hour drive west of us that is a large cotton growing area. In the winter the fields are empty and dry just waiting for a wind to pick them up for a wild ride.

We were out in it but Amanda took this picture from the livingroom window.

wow, I do NOT envy you the window cleaning job you have ahead!!! Hope enough topsoil was left in Lubbock for the cotton! I think one of those spin-offs has directions for cotton spinning in it, if there's any plants left to produce them!

As a matter of fact Critter, I grew cotton a few years ago and have a basket full of the fiber waiting to be spun. It is an organic natural green called Erlene's Green.

    'window cleaning'.....uhhhhhh, what is that?

Wind can be so damaging. Here you are banned from growing any type of cotton in your yard or garden. :(
