I've had one variety of small bearded iris that were given to me years ago. They have been little darlings in my yard and I have shared and composted hundreds. Although the slugs have done a number on the leaves, a few buds have bloomed. I'm excited to see what they will all look like. Here are the first two varieties Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Boo' ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Ballistic' ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Stay tuned for the other booms
Gorgeous additions! I sure hope the slugs leave them alone (and I'm so happy I don't have to deal with any of them).
Those are delightful. I've never seen dwarf iris for sale around here. I have a favourite already and that's the gorgeous Boo. I'll look forward to seeing the others when they flower for you.
I was hoping to see 'Canadian Kisses' blooming this morning but a slug ate the bloom right off the stem. Next year I am sure there will be lots of blooms as the plants will mature. I was surprised to see 'Devoted' blooming. I hadn't noticed the bud. A garden sure lets you enjoy the promises of future years...literally.
Lovely,..i like Boo and Devoted,..very attractive,..Cheryl is lucky not having slugs though my critters scoff nearly all,..nearly all.
Last blooming new mini for this season, but have lots of the old purple minis going strong with many more blooms. Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Lady in Red' ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden )
