There were 4 eagles soaring overhead but of course by the time I got out of my car with the camera they'd flown too far to get decent shots, though they taunted me with their squawks from a half mile away and beyond. While driving home I spotted a bunch of swans in a field and stopped to get photos. There must have been about 60 of them. We have a lot of small lakes in the area that they enjoy. The swans we saw at dusk. I had the flash on but the close up came out a little dark.

You did really well to get that eagle shot. I've never managed to get one of our Golden Eagles with my camera yet - no matter how hard I try.

So pleased you stopped and took piccies of those swans. They are magnificent birds aren't they? :-D

It is nice to see your swans, Whistler. I have onlt seen two swans here so far this winter--probably because all the canals and ponds are frozen-over...still. They are usually here by now sussing-out potential nesting places.
That reddish hue on the swans at dusk is quite lovely.

Whistler! I love those pics. I would just jump up and down to see either eagles or swans. That is one beautiful blue sky too, especially behind the eagle. Loks like you live in a beautiful place.

I'd jump up and down to see Eagle's or Swan's too! I guess I'll have to settle for watching Hawks and Turkey Vultures.

Gorgeous photos! :D But I must admit my attention was mostly on that green grass of yours. Sorry.

We've got eagles and swans, so I'd love to see turkey vultures. :D

Great pics. We don't see swans much here, but it's a treat when we do!

I love swans...and I've only seen an eagle two times in the wild in this part of the US. But...they are making a big comeback.

I should have gone back today to see if the swans are still there to get better daytime pictures rather than at dusk. I had my flash on but the zoom shots came out dark anyway. The eagles have a nest high up on a tree near where I board my horses. I usually see eagles daily.

We had more beautiful blue skies today too. We're having the warmest winter in recorded history since 1896. Not good news for the Winter Olympics that are being held about 30 miles away. In fact from the same spot where I was snapping the swans I can see Cypress Mountain, the one that's been in the news for trucking in snow, postponing events, and cancelling a few thousand tickets due to safety concerns from all the mud.
