I haven't decorated the trees, just to make that clear. Every year we hang an old plum tree branch in our window. It's perfect for holding eggs, chickens and other odds and ends the girls made: I've admired this tree for years, but haven't gotten round to photographing it before. I think it's an ash tree, and come spring I'll do some trespassing to find out. This tree just loves me, and I love the fact that I think I can spot ET in that heart: Books are tree-related, even though none of the books I got before Easter are about trees. I feel the book pile might be a slight overkill. Easter's not that long: We got some snow yesterday and today, but we're supposed to have lovely weather tomorrow. I hope so. The book pile will keep until the weather gets bad again, which will probably be Saturday or Sunday.
Droopy, the branch is cute. Your tree photo is not an ash tree, maybe a poplar or an aspen, it is familiar in shape to me, but I am just not 100% sure right this moment. I think ET is in there. great that you were able to catch him. Congratulations!
What a lovely way to display the girls Easter creations. I have things my lot made for me when they were young - some are almost thirty years old and still going strong. I can see ET in the heart too Droopy and he's smiling out at us all. I can see why you admire that tree so much. It's lovely even without any leaves and really stands out against the blue of the sky. Let's hope your book pile has to wait quite some time before you get around to reading them. I think you deserve some warm weather after all the bitterly cold days you've been having.
Howdy Droopy, You know, I like that branch of yours. I believe that you have shown it before haven't you.It always looks co nice with the decs. This pic looks especially nice knowing that you guys have made the decorations. It gives me such a cosy feeling seeng the decs with that snowy outside scene in the background. My eyes bugged out when I saw those "thick pills" that you have stacked-up there for reading. That ET face where the limb was cut off is indeed interesting, when I first saw it, I thought that it vaguely resembled the head of a mantis. hahaha. I wonder if these revelations tells something about our psyche's....you know, sorta like ink blots.
glendann, the plum tree's the only tree that gives us branches of the right shape. carolyn, I didn't mean to write "ash" but "elm" even though I don't think it's an elm either. I need to sneak up and grab some leaves when they come out and then I'll know. eileen, I haven't started on the books yet. Today's sunny again so I'm going to stay outside for as much as possible. I might be able to pull a few shallow-rooted weeds. Philip, so do I. We've already got the paperback book, but in Norwegian. Since we bought the first one in English it didn't feel right to read the second one in Norwegian so I had to remedy that. Sjoerd, you're right. I have shown it before. It's there every Easter. The branch is getting very dry so we'll have to look for a replacement this year. The snow's several weeks old but refuses to melt. Yes, you're probably murderous thinking you saw a mantis. Ink blotch indeed.
