The other night I fixed tacos and I took the grease from the hamburger and tossed it out in the snow. The little Juncos love it. But someone invaded their territory today.

You can guess what I thought when I read the title of your posting can't you? :p

Your photographs of the racoon are so clear that I can even count his whiskers. :-D

I've never seem a Raccoon out in the snow Capt. That grease must have smelled good enough to wake him from hibernation! He looks quite thin. Great shots.

All the wild animals around here are hungery. The deer are at my ground cover almost every night. The squirrels are mostly hibernateing, not many out at all. Usually about this time of yea the skunks and coons are tearing up the yard looking for grubs. Now they can't even find the yard! Once the snow is gone, the deer will leave the ground cover alone.

Oh boy, that is a great picture. The raccoons here don't come around... they stay in the woods. Suburbia...

My son had also thrown some stale Fritos out there for the "birds". He ate them too. We have a spot just inside the brush where we throw table scraps and the coons and stray cats usually get that. It's always gone by morning.

You get a lot of interesting wildlife in your yard. Very nice photograph of the racoon.
