Today a storm called Henry is in the Atlantic, threatening to visit Eileen with his strong gale to storm force winds. He might also bother the Irish. I'm a weather freak. I watch satellite images of weather. Henry looks unfriendly. I'm glad he's not paying us a visit.

We had hurricane Tor visiting on Friday. He did a lot of damage up the Norwegian coast, but didn't bother us too much. We were too far inland for him.

Anyway, pretty please to our English, Irish and Scottish members: be safe!

Echoing your good thoughts and well wishes for those in the way of foul weather.

Thanks Droopy, indeed he is not friendly but he seems to be calming down a little now :)

The weather is horrendous here with winds that are causing real problems especially to motorists. Trees are being felled and garden huts are being blown to pieces, fence panels are down all over the place and bins are rolling around the streets. I just hope this weather improves soon before the gales cause even more damage or worse injuries or deaths.

Frank, that's good. Eileen, stay in until Henry's blown himself out. I hope you didn't get any damage to your homes and properties. Did you get to keep the electricity?

Yes Droopy the electricity is still on here thankfully. However, other areas have been hit far worse than we have. Some roads in the highlands have broken up and disappeared. Flooding is still a problem too which, combined with these winds, has caused even more damage. I'm just glad we're not in the border region as many folks have had to be evacuated from their homes and don't know when they'll be able to return.
