dr said our yard is too empty. I think our oldest son is trying to help us a bit. He is big on heirloom seeds and rare seeds. Today in the mail I got a fat package. I opened it and in it were seeds, some full packages and some he opened and shared with me or ones that he saved seeds from last year. I made a list. Some I will share with Glenda and some with Dan.
    Tomatoes:
    Mr. Stripy
    Black Tula
    Ivory Egg
    Green Zebra
    White Queen
    Pink Cherry
    Red stripe
    Isis Candy Cherry
    Caspian Pink
    Black Plum

    Melons:
    Jenny Lind
    Sunset Siberian Watermelon
    Zatta Melon
    Golden Midget Watermelon
    Prescott Ford Blanc
    Tigger Melon
    Prescott Ford Blanc
    Noir de Carmes
    Collective Farm Woman
    Crane Melon
    Desert King Watermelon
    Tom Watson Watermelon
    Charentais
    Ginger's Pride
    Delice De Table
    Queen Anne's Pocket
    Early Frame Prescott

    Peppers:
    Black Hungarian
    Chile Colorado
    Amarillo Chile
    Pasilla Bejio
    Guajillo chile
    Ancho grande

    Pumpkins:
    King of Mammoth
    Wyatt's Wonder

    Winter Squash:
    Marina di Chiggia
    Potimarron

Needless to say, I will have to go searching for some of them. If they are in a proper package it won't be too hard. But, the ones in zip lock bags with hand labels and no company name or address might be a bit harder in which case I will have to call him and say, "help". Some are heirloom seeds and it says on the package that because melons can cross breed you need to plant the varieties at least a quarter mile apart. Right! My yard may be empty but it's not big enough to plant 17 varieties of melons a quarter mile apart. But, that's only if you want to save seeds and have them come true. I guess I will plant a few of each kind and hope for the best. Glenda will plant a few, too and maybe I can get Julie to plant some. They won't be a quarter mile apart but a little anyway.

A quarter mile apart! I'm glad you can plant them closer together if you just want to eat them. :D You've got an impressive list there, Dooley. I'm looking forward to hearing how your garden is progressing.

It certainly sounds as though your going to be busy outdoors this year Dooley. Just take things a step at a time though and don't be going doing too much all in one day.

What a delicious variety to choose from. You are going to be well stocked if even half of them do it.
Well, like Droopy--I shall be looking foreward to hear how your garden progresses too! :)

Oh Dooley you will have that yard filled up in no time! Do plant a few of each variety and let us know your favorites.
I have lots and lots of flower seeds so let me know what I can contribute. :)

Netty, I could use just about any kind of flower seeds. I have only hollyhock and some morning glories. If you have seeds for herbs I could use those, too. dooley
