Took 5 days from start to finish. The wait was worth it. I guess I didn't put enough cornmeal on cookie sheet. Had a hard time getting them off cookie sheet and into pan. But they are yummy. Mm-mm they look delicious. Who cares about misshapes just look at all those little hollows to be filled with jam. And the recipe is where?
Chrisle, To find the recipe google King Arthur flour. Look under recipes for sourdough Enlish Muffins. For the sourdough starter I used 1 cup flour 1 cup warm water 1 tsp. honey Mix well, cover loosely and place in warm place for 3 -5 days Stir once or twice a day. Refrigerate after 3 - 5 days. Remove from fridge and let stand 1 hour. Stir well and measure amount needed for recipe. Replenish with food starter, return to fridge. Starter Food 1 cup flour 1 cup water 1 tsp. honey or sugar. Stir all into Sourdough starter. Stir starter food into starter each time you remove some for baking.
Okay thanks,Donna. I will be mixing up the starter the first of week. I hope mine will look as yummy as yours. Pass the jam please. (grin)
Looks delicious. Nothing better tasting than homemade English muffins. Except sourdough English muffins!
I made these from Donna's starter recipe and the King Arthur Flour recipe she directed me to. They were delicious and lots of little holes for the butter and jam! Silly me forgot to take pictures.
It looks great, besides you can try oatmeal muffins. You can make sure, something that tastes good also can be healthy. These muffins contain oatmeal, dried fruits, and nuts so they’re very nutrition and healthy. moderator's note: removed website link, see point 1.1 of usage rules
thanks krosagro. Do you have a recipe? Donna--thanks for showing up your muffins & giving us the recipe!
