Every other year we trim back our Mock Orange hedge after they are done blooming. This year was the year to trim. They were 8 to 10 ft. tall and we started to trim them back to 4 ft. tall. My wife sad that she would like to trim them back to 2 ft tall. There is a lot of dead stuff in the center of them too. So I made a measure stick at 24 inches and we tied the tops of the bushes with a rope so I could them all without the stems shaking too much. THEN I WHACKED THEM OFF WITH THE CHAIN SAW!

    THat is serious pruning.
I can just imagine the new growth that will get stimulated with that hard pruning.
Hope that it blooms fantastic. :-D

We got the last of it finished up today. It looks so different! I have fertilized them and will spray the weeds in between the plants and then we will mulch them with black mulch. Should make quite a difference.

WOW! You prune like Mark prunes. Mum is always firm with hers and it always comes back. Just remind me if you ever come to my garden, to hide all the power tools!
