The robins have moved south, but each afternoon we get a small flock stop in to rest up and drink from the water bowl. The hummers are mostly gone too. Have one female that comes to drink all day long. Haven't seen the mae in over a week. The squirrels are going banannas trying to get nuts gathered up. There are so many large acorns this year, they can't make up there minds which ones they want. We have one squirrel that has a bad case of fleas. He will walk 2 or 3 feet and flop down on the ground and roll all around like a dog. I call him demented. The temps are in the low 50's at night and sometimes into the 40s. With highs in the mid 70 s. It is also dry. No rain at my place in over a month. The 2 latest showers have both gone north of me.

We can expect the robins to arrive withing a week or two, if yours are leaving. We are noticing more hummingbirds here, and the first white crown sparrows are coming in.
Fall? Is that when you stop sweating? Well, it ain't here yet!

It's the same here Capt. And today I noticed that the Gold Finch's aren't all that Gold anymore. How depressing!

How much would you pay to hibernate and wake up at the start of spring?
