Went out early this morning and worked on getting things cleaned up. First job was to remove a ten year old rose bush. Thought I could just dig it up. Nope, I dug down and then had to use a chain and the tractor to yank it out of the ground. The stem of that monster was as big around as my arm. I pulled up a bunch of stuff at the base of the retaining wall, that will get replaced next month. Then cut back the perennials that were done for in a raised bed. The yard had some grass stems and seed heads sticking up so I mowed those off, but didn't have to do the whole yard. It's so dry here, that this was the first I have mowed in 3 weeks.

This morning, I went out to the end of the driveway and mulched up a bunch of leaves. There are several Popular trees out there that have dropped almost all of there leaves, because it's so dry. But that was just a matter of riding the tractor.

Strats, do like I did, just hook a tractor up to them and yank them out. Mine had a trunk ( too big to call a stem ) the size of my arm. That was the only way I was going to get it out.
