There are times when I really dislike next door's tree!

Nice! Fall fell here a while ago. And then some snow fell too. Leaves make the best compost :)

Fall is in the process of falling. We have some leaves fluttering down when the wind is up, but mostly we just have brown grass and dead annuals that need cleaning up and putting in the compost pile.

Yes, fall fell and so did those leaves. There is a birch tree in our neighbourhood that has shed thousands of yellow leaves like that all over the street.

It may be messy for you, but they are beautiful to see, even on the ground.

Fall is still falling here. Every day we rake leaves off the lawn and into the flower beds. They do a grand job of mulching and they're free. :-D

Yep,they will be in the compost bin as soon as I can convince Mark to collect them ;)

Pretty to look at I agree but what I don't like about them is that they tend to make the patio slabs slippery  and neither Mark or I need that right now.

I spent hours yesterday mulching leaves and putting them in my gardens. The trees are still full, so I'll be at it again in a few days. It's usually after Christmas before they are all done. As long as I can keep warm I'll keep mulching. I love the smell of fall.

Depressing isn't it Donna? Happily we are having a sunny day so we have picked up as much as we can-and without injury too :D and the tree is really quite bald now! Hoorah!

We have so little leaves yet from our 3 year old trees that DH goes to the neighbors yards and cleans up their leaves. He built a yard vacuum by using the riding lawn mower, a flexible hose attached to chipper/shredder that works as a fan to blow it into an enclosed trailer. The only labor is shoveling into a wheel barrow. It's a win/win situation. They don't have to rake the leaves and we get all we need. He is a handy man to have around. :-D

D-H do you have a pic posted of your leaf invention. I would love to see what it looks like. We have been talking about getting a large leaf bagger you pull behind your lawn mower. Your invention sounds great. We have way to many trees. 9 large ones in just our front yard. We have enough leaves for three yards. Oh well. I do not have to cover any of my perennials as the trees do the job for me.
But here is a pic of what our yard now looks like. Where did fall go.....

They are Samoyeds Tooty2shoes and should probably be more at home with your snow, except that my boy,Buddy, with his head in the planter doesn't actually like snow as it gets in between his pads and freezes solid :(
