Dooley (Laura) made us aprons and presented them on their recent visit. Here I am, in my beautiful tomato print fabric apron, making a Spanish omelette. This gorgeous apron has inspired me to do a bit more baking and cooking! Jane's apron ( photo / image / picture from marlingardener's Garden ) Of course, she is very generous, so Walt got a workshop apron, and here he is, staining a mesquite crosscut slab to make a candle holder for the parsonage. Walt's work apron ( photo / image / picture from marlingardener's Garden ) You would not believe how well-made these aprons are--reinforced ties, every seam straight and true--no wonder they are a hit at the Farmers' Markets! We are so lucky to have a kitchen apron, workshop apron, and a garden apron. I just hope we can live up to their beauty and durability!
OH how cute....I love mine...I got mine for work in the garden but I use it every day in my kitchen. I just couldn't use it out in that dirt and all..... :-D
What's that saying about "clothes making the person"? I think it needs to be changed to "Dooley's Aprons Make Happy, Functional Folks".
Mine gets used every day too but not in the garden. I'd hate it to get all stained and dirty so I use it in my craft room instead. :-D I've had aprons from the shops before that the ties have fallen off or the seams rip - not with Dooley's it's still as good as the day I got it.
My Mom received one of Dooley's fantastic aprons also. The quality is amazing I assure you of that You two look great sporting Dooley's fashion!
Oh Jane, You and Walt look fabulous in your new outfits. It sounds like all of us that have Dooley's aprons are very pleased with them. I have one of those "purple hulled pea pickin' apron" and use it all the time. Thanks You, Dooley!
Nice-looking aprons, MG...both of them. I especially like the looks of yours. Are all the little dots tomatos of different colours? They stand out so nicely on that black background, don't you think? That Dooley--she makes some first class stuff.
Yes, Sojoerd, you could call this an "instructional apron." Each tomato has its name under it, so I know what I'm cooking with! One of the best things about this apron is it is pre-spotted. With my cooking skills and neatness, it was bound to get various spots and dolops on it, but they won't show! Dooley isn't just a first class apron maker, she also knows how to disguise the wearer's occasional messiness. My "oops" will be hidden by the tomatoes!
Goodness! You are going to give me a swelled head with all the praise. Then, my hat won't fit and I can't go outside without a hat. I'll have to stay inside all of the time and sew. Netty, I lost your address. dooley
Don't worry Sjoerd and marlingardener about her getting a swelled head. She almost always wears a ball cap and they are adjustable. Besides I like to see the silly grin on her face. Thank you. dr
KK, you are too kind! Update on the fashion parade. I was chitting potatoes yesterday afternoon (that's cutting seed potatoes so each piece has at least two eyes, and the cut can heal over for a couple of days before planting) while wearing my apron. Yes, it got dirty, really dirty! I felt bad about that, but figured that Dooley had told me it was a garden apron and she ought to know. I put it in the wash with warm water, line-dried it, and it's as good as new! I'm relieved I didn't stain my apron, and even more in love with it than before !
All of the aprons and bags that I make are washable unless you happen to get one of the "Sunday" aprons that are of a silky material. Then, I would hand wash it. I cannot however guarantee that they are stain proof. I'm glad you were able to use your apron so soon, Jane. dooley
My SIS got me a nice apron for Christmas.I had bad habit when i'm I'm cooking wiping hands on my Jean behind to dry hand. After I washed the apron was very nice-very stiff material before . Yours look well made. Wish my kitchen was big enough for island.Would cook even more.
