'Zulu' and 'Zulu Dawn' are brilliant, but as they are part of one of my interests, I'll not include them. So, 'The Magnificent Seven' is my favourite. C.J.
All that Jazz with Roy Sheider .I 've watched over twenty times , but still can't watch the open heart surgery scene . " It's showtime folks" All Tarantino ........ 8) Bugs
"Gorillas in the Mist" is my all-time favourite!! Makes me angry though in parts at the destruction of the gorillas for nothing more than money.
As most of you know, I will be 70 years old next January, so I have watched many a movie. My youth was spent watching black and whites....no color in those days, and no TV. My sweet hubby and I both love movies and for a couple of years rented three movies per week from Netflix which we will soon return to. But for now, we watch most of the movies that are shown on TV. Out of allllll those movies, I think I still like "Gone With the Wind" and "You've Got Mail" the most. Today is Doris Day's birthday, the movie channel is showing her movies all day and night. Love the fun Doris Day movies. I like it when she is acting bright and cheerful. Not too hot on her sad movies.
Being kind of "Off the Wall" my favorite has to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase! I watch it every NOv. to get ready for the Holiday season!
Capt. Kirk, Us too. There are certain return movies we watch EVERY year during the holidays from Halloween, Thanksgiving and on through Christmas. They make the season bright, don't they!?!
If I was to choose a more recent film, I'd have to say 'The Ghost and the Darkness'. The fact that it is based on a true story, makes it all the more interesting. C.J.
Oh I forgot Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the old one). That is shown every Christmas Day in Ireland!
AZW, We had to see that movie two times, it was so interesting and shocking all at the same time. Those lions were almost human!!!
I have a favourite movie trilogy: "Lord of the Rings." I read the books then saw each film as soon as it came into the cinemas. Now I have them all on DVD!!! Superb films and fantastic scenery!!!!! My favourite cartoon film is "The Lion King" closely follwed by Bambi, and yes, I admit to having a lump in my throat at the sad bits.
Me tooooo, Eileen. Me too! We are just grown up babies. LOL! My hubby and I are stuck on Harry Potter movies. There is just something magical about them. So I understand how you feel about Lord of the Rings. I do wish these kids would not grow up so fast. Boo-hoo-hoo.
