Still have female hummers, but I think the males have left already. I haven't seen a male hummer in about a week.

We have more hummingbirds at the two feeders than we've had in months. I wonder if they are starting migration?
Captain, with all the wildlife activity in your yard I'm surprised you have the time to check out the hummers!

I would say they have started their migration. Wisconsin weather is changing and with the threat of frost and last week rooftops were white.

The butterflys have really slowed down in showing up so I think most of them are starting out too...fall is close.

I will keep my hummingbird feeders out until the end of October just in case I have some still going through later. It is very important not to quit feeding yet, they have a long journey ahead of them and they need help.

I have not seen a hummer in two days, I can usually count on seeing them several times a day. The nights are getting cold. I think they have 'flown the coop.' Spring is a long way away.
