When my newest rain barrel was complete I figured that it really should have something to 'hide' the blue-ness of it from critical view by passersby and persnickety city officials.
We got 10 of these fence pickets at that really wonderful junk barn last May and the assorted doodads I have picked up at thrift stores lately.

The little box on the left has a baby petunia planted in it.
Next Spring the shrub roses I cut down to give us working room will be up and covering the bottom half of the panel.

What rain barrel?? Your eye has so many items to tell your brain about that the barrel is far down on the list. Good camouflage!!

Great cover up. And the shrub roses will look beautful there next year. I really like the pump idea. I have a hand pump from my grandmothers house and a electric pump and a rain barrel. Hubby is going to say, not another project:). I bought the hose this week to and his favorite beer. So what is this maybe a hour project. He get a steak dinner also. I know I'm rambling. He's a truck driver, home only on the weekends. So I have to justify my wants. But in the end I always get my wants, just takes awhile.:)

Nicely hidden. Once those roses grow no-one will know there's a rain barrel there. :-D
