    Dicentra ____? 'everlasting'

Small, Pink and white in color

At best it grew to 14 inches in height about the same spread

Suited to growing in the shade

Flowered from May to September (why I liked it)

    Purchased about 1981-83

Self seeds, as i never knew where to find it in the flower bed (biggest problem)

For years it would be in the same area then Poof!!

Last year I managed to find 3 small plants

I moved them to an area where I could keep track of them I don't think they liked being moved. One may have croaked :-(

Could it be dicentra-formosa? It is a wild plant in my yard and grows in the shade. If kept moist it blooms from spring to fall. It is a native in this region, but has been bred for specific colorings.

Thank you Jewell, confirming that dicentra-formosa blooms from spring to fall identifies a key component. The height also works for the plants in our garden. Our DB has bloom time till August, I wonder if that is a tad shy or a regional limitation outside the Pacific northwest? I will check my local nursery when they wake up for the season.
