Here in NY we've had an unusually cool summer. Yesterday we hit 91* the first time to hit 90 in the month of August which is very unusual. Our Augusts are usually in the 90's. Oh well just hope this isn't a harbinger of a bad winter......

To my mind not hitting 90 before now would be a wonderful thing, having been 90-105 here for the last three months.

Hubby was telling me just the other day that some are predicting an extremely cold winter this year for most of the U.S.

In the Farmers Almanac it looks almost like a repeat of last year.

We have been in the upper 90'smuch of the summer here. Usually we have just 4 or 5 days of them. Unreal!

90 degrees is too hot for me! It's a nice 71 right now but that's about average for here. We have had an odd summer though. 100 degree temps (rare)for week in June, and then 2 weeks of rain the first part of this month that caused most of the farmers to lose their grain. I hope it isn't a harbinger of a bad winter too.

We FINALLY had a hot day this week too! The last time we had these temperatures was on June 30th! It has been such a cool, wet year that everything is getting moldy. I am NOT looking forward to winter, especially since we are supposed to get another nasty one like last year!

Only the fire ants that don't get eaten by scorpions or impaled on cacti!

We had our hottest week of the year last week with the heat index being about 115 on some of those days! It is usually muggy and hot about 8 months out of our year anyway. This week has given us a hint of autumn however, and I am certainly excited by it! Still warm during the days, but nothing like it has been. It's been refreshingly cool in the mornings and evenings. I couldn't imagine having the harsh winters like some of you on here have talked about...too cold for me! We hardly ever even see snow here and it rarely sticks longer than 30 minutes.
