We've got blooms. No snow, a bit of rain, mild temps, but below 10°C or 50°F, hardly any wind and I'm rubbing my eyes, pinching myself and comparing this winter to last year's winter. Last year spring arrived at the beginning of May. It may seem that we've got spring already, but I daren't bet on it. Anyways, a few of our blooming plants here. First the crocus: The hedge is usually early, but this year it's way too early: The hellebores. I can't find the nametag for most of them, but the first one's called "Tutu": H. foetidus: We bought this one last year. I'm so glad it turned out like it should: And finally Iris "Katharine Hodgkin": Since I live in Norway I should have snow and below-zero temps now, with spring just around the corner. Instead we've got lovely gardening weather and daylight from about 07.00 until 18.30 and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Well, I'm green with envy! The high today is 36 degrees, we have icicles (about 1/2" long) hanging off the eaves, the cold north wind is cutting, and I'm wearing long pants and a sweatshirt. This is NOT how it's supposed to be in Texas in March. No sign of crocus or hellebores around here, although yours are beautiful, Droopy. I may move to Norway to thaw out . . . .
I am green with envy too! Those are absolutely gorgeous blooms and such a sight for sore eyes Droopy!
Beautiful blooms, I really like that Iris!! I need to find some. Pay no attention to Jane , this is exactly how March in Texas is supposed to be unless you like dark clouds with pointy ended things dropping out of them to reek havoc on the ground and buildings. I much prefer winter to those
Goodness gracious me Miz D---look at those! I really like that "ice-blue" crocus. I have to say that your Helleborus collection is second to none. You have some smashing specimens there...and you fotografed them so well, showing off their spectacular beauty. Very nice thread this time, Droopy. I'm jealous as well.
Wow, I am green with envy, too. As of this moment it is -14c/9f and dropping. Nothing but snow here yet. soon, though....
WOW spring has certainly sprung in Norway hasn't it? Those hellebores are gorgeous Droopy - especially that lemon one and the burgundy and white. I also really like those pale blue crocus and those lovely iris. Doesn't it do your heart good to see flowers popping up again?
*drops to her knees* "Thank you God, there is going to be a Spring". Love the helleborus, well, everything but they are special.
