Getting sme rain this morning, more than just a few drops. Started raining about 6 am and has been going pretty good for right at an hour. We sure do need it. The farmers have been taking off soybeans, about a month early. Anything over 15% humidity in the beans and they are docked a penalty at the grainery. Most of them have been running at 8% up until today, so the farmers have been happy. They haven't had to put them into the gas dryers. We stopped by an Amish market yesterday and bought a doz. ears of sweet corn. I was afraid that it would be starting to turn hard and tuff. But it was some of the best that we have had all summer. Their sweet corn firld is just behind the store. They were unloading it from the wagon, so you can't get much fresher than that!
Isn't wet wonderful! So glad you are getting much needed rain. Now your garden and flowers will perk up!
Nope my flowers and garden are already gone! The only thing I have blooming are Autumn Joy and Fall Asters. The Joy is a mild pink now and the Asters are just beginning to bloom. Have already done the bed cleanups for fall and removed the dead stalks etc.
More storms came through about 3:30 this afternoon. Got 3/4 of an inch with that and another 2/10's at 4:30. So we have had 1 2/10's today. We have bright blue sky now and the sun is out. They did have a tornado on the ground about 50 miles southwest of me at about 4:30. But it looks like it is all over for us now.
We got some rain during the night and looks like we will be getting more tonight. It is sooooo welcome here also we had such a dry and HOT HOT HOT summer. Glad you got some rain also.
