We are getting the first substantial rain in 3 months. It's been raining nice and slow for most of the afternoon and evening. On the news they said we have gotten about 1/2 inch so far with several hours of more rain in the forcast.

    That is good...
Could you hear the dry ground slurping it up as it fell?

When we stopped for lunch today the weather channel was on the tv at the restaurant. I saw that the whole of Indiana, Ohio and Penn. was covered in green. That was the rain. The girl said some areas were having heavy rain with the potential for severe storms. I hope you continue to get your slow steady rain and no bad stuff. It's nice that it's rain, too and not snow. I hope you get all the moisture you need this winter.

That rain storm hit Ontario last night. Now it's windy too. The ground soaked it all up so we must have needed it.

Here in Scotland we never get excited about seeing rain. Sunshine - now that's something we could do with a bit more of and some warm weather. Swap anyone? :D

Ooooohhh Cap'n, I'm so happy for you! There is nothing better than the sight and smell of rain after a long dry spell. Enjoy every minute of it!

Eileen, I'd happily send you the whole month of July in Texas in exchange for one week of rainy weather in the summer!
