Nice fire pit! I have piles and piles of wood left from the construction last year and am thinking to put a fire pit in my garden too.
8) thanks, nan1234....actually, part of the reason i built it, was i had leftover lumber from a bathroom remodel.....now i also have wood from the lilac bush i'm trying to remove.
Does it work? I like the look of the fire pit! But, does it really work? Let me know how you like it, I may add that to my backyard plans for next summer P.O.
I want marshmallows too please! It's wonderful you are really going to enjoy it. Does the lilac wood smell when you burn it?
8) thanks for the feedback.....i am proud of myself for that....alot of sweat in the hottest part of the summer (could only work until around noon, then the sun shone on it the rest of the day....those bricks were heavy...but at 20 cents a piece...a great deal. and yes, beddecor, the pit really works....not to big, so the fire can't get out of hand ( of course, you don't over-load it, but after it's started i put two piece on at a time....makes a nice fire to enjoy....plus if i put it away for the winter, i should be able to use it for a few years.
Annette any chance of you coming to Scotland and building me a fire pit?!! I love it!!! Trouble is I may want one for my garden but the amount of rain we get here is waaayyy too much so I'll settle for you building an area just like the one your fire pit is on instead. Definately worth all the blood, sweat and tears!!

Fire pits are a great idea. Agree with you all, there's nothing quite like sitting around toasting marshmallows with mugs of hot chocolate. Especially in the cooler evenings.
