The fire department in Midway has a barbecue cookoff fundraiser every year about this time. It's a state cookoff, meaning the winner can go to a state contest. They have a carnival and a costume contest and a domino tournament and all sorts of things. I signed up to sell my aprons and tote bags. dr says since it's a barbecue cookoff I should feature my barbecue and kitchen aprons. I think I will find some plain and print material that might be appealing to males since the cookoffs I see on TV are usually mostly males cooking. I have already made five new children's aprong. I found some Christmas material when I was cleaning my material shelves yesterday so maybe I will try to make some Christmas stuff too. dooley

Considering all the local fire departments do for us, we can all get behind a fund raiser, especially one that features barbecue. Your aprons will be a big seller at the festival, especially since you will have "male-appealing" fabrics.
