No - I've been wondering, but thought perhaps they are traveling. I hope we hear something soon. That fire is tragic and very close to town.

Guess there is a good chance that their vacation will be cut short, I think they were going to be there another week or so.

Yep, this is the end of their second week on Rhodes and according to her blog entry before they left they planned on staying at a hotel in the town of Rhodes.

I haven't seen the fires yet, but i will look at the link. But! The day after they got there on the news was a earthquake, where one woman was killed when she was leaving. Accident, not the earthquake. the quake was over 6 on the scale. It also said there was a few injuries, but all but one made it okay. I mean, I like exciting vacations, but geeeez, thats a little much for even me,,lol. I sure hope she and family are okay.

Oh dear I really hope that Droopy and family are alright. She was so looking forward to a relaxing holiday too. Maybe the company she booked with will move them out of the danger zone and to an area that is safe.

It would be a terrible shame if they had to cut their vacation short :(

I think their all fine,,i hope their vacation is their best. I haven't heard anything on the news, and the Norwegian news is very good about reporting if a norwegian citizen abroad has gotten into somekind of trouble. So far nothing. And thats good!

Thanks Biita...I feel more optimistic. Holland has this sort of monitoring and too--but I had no idea that Norway did it as well.
It iworks the other way round too--
While one is on vacation they can tune in to Radio Nederland and a few times a day there are announcements to travellers and tourists abroad if something happens at home and they need to call.

    I'm glad you mentioned this.

I listened to the news last night, and there was nothing again, so i'm positive their okay. I even asked my husband to check out our VG net, the online news paper, and nothing about norwegians hurt or in serious trouble. So i'm sure all is well. We have simular to that Sjoerd, you can check online or call a number, and it will give updates to any place your visiting in the world.

Well, fire and earthquakes could ruin a vacation but if no one has heard anything I would think all is well. It could ruin the sunshine though. We wish her a good time and a good trip home whenever she comes. dooley
