First Bearded baby of 2007

    Actually it is just...just? No way is this a 'just' this is the first Purple Bearded Iris of 2007 for me. There appear to be at least a dozen more in this small patch by the backdoor and another dozen in the patch in front of the picket fence with the other Iris.
    This is what I look forward to most every spring.
    I get to go out every morning for a few weeks, gently cup each bloom in my hands, breathe deeply and bring back memories of purple popsicles from the ice cream man on hot summer afternoons.

    Beautiful color! I have some purple and white Iris that smell like candy yum

    Toni that is gorgeous!! I could almost smell the grape popsicles as you were describing the smell!!lol! It must be absolutely amazing in real life!!
