I've posted a couple places that my oldest brother is coming from California for a visit. He hasn't been here since February. I think the only thing that was growing in my garden then was the Dutch Iris. Nothing else had been planted. And there was "stuff" still piled up everywhere.
So I'm trying to make a good first impression.
I rushed home from work to mow and trim.
    Here's "Before & After" photos #1.

He'll be getting here around 11:30-12:00 tonight. Can't wait to hear his comments in the morning when he's looking out the kitchen window as he fills up the coffee pot with water.

Thanks everyone. Today was probably the fastest I've ever mowed and trimmed! And I didn't whack anything down either. :D
Would you believe I just mowed over the weekend? Amazing what a little bit of water will do for the grass.
I just didn't have the time to re-mow the rest of the property. But... I can get to it again this weekend while the brothers are off to Louisiana for a family reunion.
And Philip... No coffee for me. My brother can and does drink it all day long. I'd be in the emergency room if I drank just one cup. It gets me so wired up, you'd think I was on drugs... and upsets my tummy.
So... I'll stick with water or tea.

Gosh Cheryl you must have whizzed round your garden with the mower at some speed!! What a grand job you've done and I'm sure your brother will be suitably impressed - I am!! :D Have a lovely time catching up with him and having fun. Hey with all the coffee he drinks he should be able to give you a hand with the rest of your property. Between the two of you everything will be in apple pie order before you know it. ;)

Well... his flight was a little late so they just went to my brother's boat overnight instead of making the drive to the house.
So that means I can get a bit more mowing done this morning.

Great cleanup Cheryl, the yard would impress anyone and you did not destroy anything in the process. Two thumbs up!! Have a great time.

    Thanks Jerry and Sjoerd.
Good thing I like mowing... because it will have to be done again in a few days. Especially if we get any more rain.
I think I'll wait until Saturday to get out the riding mower and finish up.
