I call them 'popsicle' because their fragrance reminds me of my favorite popsicle flavor when I was a kid. This is the first of several that are all waiting their turn to show off. If I remember correctly this is the same one that is the first to bloom every Spring. Each and everyone of them gets inhaled deeply (read - my nose is stuck down into the bloom), told how beautiful they are this year and thanked for bringing Spring to life for me. oooooooooh!!! nice blue, oooooooooh!!! nice blue, oooooooooh!!! nice blue, I don't have to look at any more flowers today!! Jerry Does it have a name?
Those Iris have to be my all time favorite flower and the fragrance is delicious. I really miss them after they stop blooming. Jerry, I bought a mixed bag of bulbs many years ago so I don't have name for it.
It's just Blue-tiful, Toni! I like the fragrance of iris too. One of my favoriate flowers. I love that you speak to each and every one of them.
oooh so pretty! Blue is my fave color <3 Makes me hope my irises bloom soon, I planted them last year so Im anxious to see if theyre as pretty in person as on the package
Now the Iris bed is filled with blooms and that wonderful popsicle fragrance. The whole bed is filled now ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) And another color....the darkest purple I have ever seen. I don't have a name for it, it was sold as just Bearded Iris several years ago. It has that popsicle fragrance too ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )
Must be nice having such a lush iris area already blooming and smelling so fragrant. This year I count 5 blooms that will emerge from my girlfriend's efforts. Last year we planted a bunch of new ones that may or may not bloom. You're ahead of us for the flowering cycle. I'd really like to see how much the iris flowers "Smell" though. You're lucky for the work you've put in...
Now if that just ain't the prettiest set of Irises I've ever seen! And that dark purple one... it has to be even darker than your Louisiana "Black Gamecock" one! And oh yeah... I need to go sniff my Irises to see if they smell like popsicles too!
