These i bought today we went to the Garden Centre to look at seeds and propagators and i came home with these little fellows left to right they are Strawberry Elan, fuschia Upright Blackie, fuschia upright winston churchill, fuschia upright koralle, Verbena aztec Violet (p) Coleus king scarlet. I am so excited to have these already and I am going to plant them into a bit larger pots and watch them grow and plant them out when we have less frosts I also got the following seeds

    Tomato : Black Cherry
Tomato: gartenperle ( for hanging basket)
Tomato : Ferline F1 Hybrid ( as reccomended last season)
    Sweet pepper: Gourmet
we got the following seeds free
    Tomato : Horbinger
    Corn salad: Baval
Black eyed Susan : Blushing Susie F1 Hybrid
Sweet peeper: Golden Bell F1 Hybrid

I am so excited about my new hobby and already have sweet pea seeds planted and some peas and beans the peas will be put outside later in the year and the beans we are going to try grow indoors in our upstairs 'greenhouse' a bedroom my hubby converted into a growing room for my seeds and plants with lights.

I resisted buying an orchid even though it was beautiful as I am going to buy on-line from a specialist Orchid grower so I know what I am buying and that it is a healthy well cared for plant

Good luck with your new plants, playtime. I'm trying my luck with lights this year as well. Is this the right time to plant peas as I want to try them? I think you are doing the right thing with orchids. I bought some in the local nursery and lost them because of the overwatering they do. Let us know how your light garden does.

To be perfectly honest I think I am about 5 or 6 weeks early in planting them but we have only planted 3 peas so if they don't do so well we have plenty more to give a go. The Sweet peas can be sown from Jan to March indoors according to the information on the packet so if they grow those should do just fine. The beans well we will see I will keep you updated on their progress when they show there faces I will post my first seedling photos.

I like your coleus plant. I started some from seed last year inside. also picked up some plants too. I brought them all inside this winter and will put them back out as soon as our spring comes around. How did you get lucky as to get free seeds? way to go on your findings.

It was buy two packs of Thompson and Morgan seeds get one free pack but the guy must have liked us as he gave us 4 free packs, I think he gave us one of each of the varieties he had to give away. I have not grown coleus before but my Mum has and they are lovely this one i particuarly liked. It says to have scarlet, crimson and green foliage.

Oh lucky you playtime! I would sooo love to browse a garden center, but there are none to be found this time of year.
Good luck with your new plants and don't forget pictures when they bloom :)

I am not so sure the cups are waxed paper and have no base and they have the growing instructions on and the preferred location for the plants, I repotted them this evening and have put the cups with the pots( unhooked them and taped them to the pot)I will show pictures of progress I hope I just now with the seeds my husband bought me have so many I don't know what to do with them all ! I will certainly be busy come march onwards.

How fantastic to hear that you're going to start growing! It brings hope to me up here in my frozen world. :D Oh, sounded dramatic...

I also like the coleus, and I am trying to work up the courage to sow some this spring. I might manage to bring up a few plants to brighten the borders.

You got my fingers itching to start planting but sadly I can't even contemplate it for a few weeks yet. Our weather is just so cold at the moment that nothing would grow if I planted it now. Good luck with your seeds and all your new 'babies'. I look forward to hearing how everything grows for you. :stew2:
