So far so good, I have beaten the dreaded blight....for now. So yesterday, I picked my first 3 tomatoes of the year. They are outside, so slower to ripen than the greenhouse varieties, and they are three little cherry plums. ( photo / image / picture from EJ's Garden ) I also picked a handful of lovely white alpine strawberries, a few red straggles and we scrumped a few loganberries from a derelict plot. Been eating full sized tomatoes since July 1st. Also about 2 hogs worth of bacon to go with them and the lettice!
I wonder why someone thought it was a good idea to change carrots from purple (their origional colour) to the orange ones we know now? I would love to have a go at growing those purple ones next year that's for sure. :-D
A big congratulations on yur firsts od the season. There's gonna be lots more, though, aren't there. Those carrots are pretty remarkable to see. Do they all have good flavours?
