Today I get some good pictures of my favorite tree. There are two and they have been there for at least 20 years. I have watched them over the years and love them. They are near where I once lived in NJ.

Can anyone tell me what they are?

Yes, definitely a Sweetgum. The corky bark and 5 lobed leaves are clear indicators.

Thank you. I have watched these two trees for all these years admiring them each time I passed them along the highway.

I want to add them to my property. I may keep them cut shorter as I do with many of my plants but time will tell for I will be looking for seedlings no taller than 3 or 4 feet.

I would love to add two of them along with a few White Birch.

They are an interesting looking tree. I am guessing in the winter they must appear very ?shaggy?

That's what caught my eye all those years ago. They have so much character in the Winter. I am so excited.
