I didn't think of taking a before picture but you know I complained about it every time it rained. A couple of weeks ago two or three guys with bulldozers came and fixed it. I took a few pictures of the progress.

No more creekbed road. I didn't complain once when we went up it this weekend.

No more being worried about getting stuck after rain and no more potholes!! Thank goodness they got the work done before winter sets in.

Wow, that was a gigantic project. It's going to be a pleasure when you come home after it has rained all day. I used to live on a road like that. I remember dreading the trip home if it had been raining. mucking up my clean car and watching out for the gullies that you could get lost in forever.

Congrats. Did the city or state do that? Our whole community had to do ours for it was privately owned. We all pitched in with the equipment and man power. It took more than a couple of days and was slowed down by the rain, of course. It was nice to use after that.

Dooley, now you can come and go at pleasure, without worrying about weather washing out your road.
The county guys came by while we were gone and topped off our road (we're on asphalt) and left us extra gravel for the entrance to our drive. Our driveway looks good for the first 10 feet!

That is great for you Dooley. I can't imagine trying to navigate a "road" like that continually just to go in and out. I grew up on a cinder road and every summer they would come through and grade out the "washboard" effect every now and then. Dirty....oh my. It was dusty and disgusting all summer long. but it was a road wide enough for two cars except at the bridges. I have never seen a creekbed road except for yours. Glad they finally improved it for you.

They did a great job... I'd probably be making extra trips in & out just to drive on it. :-D

It's not a county maintained road. The rancher at the end of the road took care of getting it done. I think the oil company may have had something to do with it as they have oil leases along the road. They would need a better road to get their equipment in and out. I'm not sure who paid for it though.
I do like it a lot. We got four inches of rain over the weekend and we didn't have a bit of trouble going in and out.
