    Spring is well and truly here, ive got two flies in my lounge.Can anyone tell me exactly what use flies are?? apart from bird food!! (oh and keeping your trousers up :D )

    I wish Bugs was here, he would definitely have some opinion as to the usefulness of flies.

    We used to have a dog that caught and ate flies. Sometimes he would follow one around until he was able to snap it up and sometimes he would just sit really still until it flew in front of his nose. He was a quick as a frogs tongue.
    It was really nice to have a flyless house.

    My dad used to walk around with a fly swatter in his hand from spring through fall. Everyone thought it was an extension. My aunt used to say people wouldn't recognize him without it. He grew up on a hardscrabble farm where there were no screens. He hated flies. Dooley

    Last year, the area where i live suffered badly from a swarm of dung flies!! I had hundreds of them in the house, we couldnt open the doors or windows, bad enough having flies, but dung flies? yuk!!!
