We have had several frost warnings but so far we have not had a killing frost. I have started to clean up the beds but some of the annuals are still looking good, the color are more vibrant as the weather cools down and the daylight decreases. We started out the day with fog. knock out rose ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) spider in the mist ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Endless Summer hydrangea ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Later in the day the sunlight emerged casting shadows over the garden. afternoon shadows ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Knock out rose ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Painted Lady ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden ) Evening sky ( photo / image / picture from gfreiherr's Garden )
What a lovely group of flirty fotos, Gail-- That poor spider looks so cold there. I'll bet you could pick him out of his web with your fingers and he'd be too stiff to move, poor guy. ...and your borders--I LURVE your borders! I have liked every foto of your borders that you have ever shown. This fall shot is no exception. They look grand.
Superb photographs Gail. I, too, love your borders - they are still so colourful compared to mine here in Scotland. I hope the frost takes it time in coming to you so that you can get everything finished up for winter before it hits.
All your photos/flowers are absolutely gorgeous. And that first photo of the Knock Out Rose... almost knocked me out of my seat!
Thanks everyone for your comments. Still no frost, cool nights but warm sunny days. I did clear out 4 more garbage bags of fading flowers, perennial foliage and tomato plants.
