This year my phlox in my back garden have gone growing crazy. They are at least 5 feet tall. Thats a 4ft wooden ruler I have standing in front of them. They have even crowded out the Iris and other plants I had in the same bed. Must be all the verbal encouragement I gave them. Grow or you are getting dug out and disposed of. ;)

I to love the brite pink color. I just knew a few words of encouragement would do the trick. Now if only those words worked on other things around the yard. :D

Sj thank you. Somewhere under all that are Iris.

Chris sorry to hear that about your Phlox. We have deer out where we live but they do not bother my garden. We have a lot of wildness surrounding us. That give those critters a lot of choices when it comes to food. But our cedar trees and dog wood shrubs really take a beating in the winter from deer browse. :stew1:

That is a lovely color! I love phlox too, and I have been looking for red or a dark color and haven't been able to find any.

That is truly breathtaking. I just got 3 a few weeks ago but quickly realized I have at least one in the front garden. It is not, not, not anything like yours but is coming along beautiful. Unless you have someone eat them I don't think you can go wrong with these plants.

I had no idea phlox could get so big. I'm used to seeing the low growing ones. Thanks for sharing.

Netty thank you. I to would love a red.

Barb thank you. This one is planted in a very sandy loom. I have the same plant in the front yard and it is regular size. It must love the sand mixture. Your right, Phlox are pretty easy to grow.

Cayuga-thank you. Once in a while the old brain gets some inspiration.

Eclectic--I to had no idea that this one would grow so big or that they could reach such heights.

I agree with Eclectic... didn't expect to see them that tall! All I've seen are the low growing kind.
Now... I'm going to have to try your words of encouragement on a few things in my yard! :stew2:

Chery Yup. I too have only seen them grow to about 2ft high. Last year this same Phlox grew the regular height. Sometimes things just need a little encouragement to grow. He,he,he. :stew1:

Oh, your phlox are so pretty! They are one of my favorite flowers. I found a site on-line that sells hundreds of phlox plants and some of them are naturally 6 feet tall! Is it possible that you have one of the naturally tall phlox? I've been trying to figure out where I would put one.

2ofus Thank you. I'm not sure where it came from, or if it is one of the tall varieties. I have another one of the same plant in my front yard and it doesn't grow quite this tall. What is the website? Would love to know. :stew1:
